Google has unveiled Nano Banana Pro, its latest AI-powered tool for image editing and creation. The release follows the launch of Google’s new Gemini AI model earlier this week, which helped push Alphabet’s stock to record highs.
Built on Gemini 3 Pro
Nano Banana Pro is built on Gemini 3 Pro, announced on Tuesday. The new Gemini model has already boosted investor confidence, with Alphabet’s shares rising 4% on Thursday.
Josh Woodward, vice president of Google Labs and Gemini, told CNBC that Nano Banana Pro offers capabilities far beyond the original Nano Banana, which launched in August.
“It’s incredible at creating infographics, making slide decks, and maintaining character consistency across multiple images,” Woodward said. “Internal users have experimented with code snippets and LinkedIn resumes to turn them into visual content.”
From Viral Sensation to Powerful AI Tool
The original Nano Banana became a viral hit on social media. Users turned photos of themselves or their pets into hyperrealistic 3D figurines. According to Woodward, the tool helped Gemini gain 13 million new users in just four days.
Nano Banana Pro expands these capabilities, offering more advanced visualization options for personal, professional, and creative projects.
Availability Across Google Platforms
Nano Banana Pro is currently accessible through the Gemini app, with limited free quotas. It is also integrated into Google’s NotebookLM writing assistant and several enterprise, developer, and advertising products.
Subscribers of Google AI Pro and Ultra can use Nano Banana Pro in Google’s search features AI Mode, enabling seamless AI-powered content creation directly in search results.
Google continues to push its AI strategy forward with Nano Banana Pro, blending viral creativity with professional-grade tools for businesses and individual users alike.
